The Christian Motorcyclists Association is a nonprofit organization totally supported by motorcyclists and enthusiasts who believe in Jesus Christ, believe in this ministry, and give sacrificial gifts of love. Founded in 1975, CMA now has over 148,000 applicants for membership and more than 1,116 chapters chartered in the United States. CMA is also represented in twenty-seven other countries around the world.
The main purpose of the Christian Motorcyclists Association is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with motorcyclists. This is achieved by attending motorcycle rallies, tours, races, etc. and conducting worship services at these events whenever possible. Another way of reaching the lost is by going and serving them through handing out free water and coffee, ministering to the children, and helping those in need. Thousands have turned to Christ through the evangelistic ministry of CMA. CMA uses a portion of Run for the Son monies to assist in the printing and distribution of multitudes of tracts, New Testaments, the Spoke-N-Word (Gospel of John), and paper cups with the message of the Gospel printed on them. These cups are used to distribute the free water and coffee at races and rallies, with the hope of making an impact at major events that hundreds of thousands of bikers attend.
This percentage, used to minister to bikers in the United States and all over the world, is specifically used to take the Gospel to searching people in the various ways described above. Over the past twenty-three years, Run for the Son has provided fifteen million dollars towards Home Missions, and since 2009 the funds have also gone to CMA Inter-national to reach people all over the world.
For more than twenty-eight years, the impact of the JESUS film has been felt in jungles, deserts, and bustling cities. Director Jim Green emphasizes that, “As viewers see the compassion of Jesus and hear His Word in their own heart languages, they are drawn to Christ.” Considered the catalyst in accelerating worldwide evangelism, discipleship, and church planting, the JESUS film has been translated into 1,089 languages and has been shown in over 226 countries. Its cumulative viewing audience numbers more than 6.3 billion with millions of decisions being made for Christ as a result of viewing the film. The JESUS Film Project, a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, continues to reach key people groups worldwide by pairing emerging technologies with unique coverage strategies.
Currently, for every dollar invested, at least ten people worldwide see the JESUS film and one person accepts Christ. Using these guidelines, we anticipate that approximately 70 million people have viewed the film, and about 7 million people have made decisions for Christ resulting from gifts to Run for the Son! Since 1998 when this partnership in global evangelism began, CMA has given a total of $7,001,786 to The JESUS Film Project.
Missionary Ventures International began in 1983 as an interdenominational missionary organization to assist Guatemalan Christian leadership through strategic partnering relationships, enabling them to reach their own people with the love and message of Christ. From Guatemala, this vision has been carried throughout the globe; developing Christian leaders, assisting them to plant churches and ministries to reach out to the impoverished and hurting people in their communities.
Transportation is a strategic tool for world evangelism. Most indigenous pastors working in jungles, mountain villages, and distant towns are limited to walking. Through Missionary Ventures, CMA has been supplying motorcycles, bicycles, and other forms of transportation to indigenous pastors and evangelists. Through Run for the Sonʼs gifts to Missionary Ventures, CMA has placed over 3,930 motorcycles, 6,011 bicycles, six horses, and eight boats to pastors working in ninety different countries. Over the past twenty-three years, Run for the Son has donated $8,365,157 to Missionary Ventures.
Historically, most of the vehicles have gone to pastors and evangelists planting new churches and going into new areas with the Gospel. Typically they will plant a new church and within the first year see at least one hundred people come to Christ. Statistics are difficult to calculate but we have seen as many as twelve new churches being planted with the use of one motorcycle. Run for the Son helps these native Christian leaders expand their outreach “to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8b, NKJV).
Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel.
Founded in 1955 by “Brother Andrew,” Open Doorsʼ mission is to support and strengthen persecuted Christians around the world, mobilize believers in America, and advocate on behalf of those who suffer for their faith. An estimated 200 million Christians worldwide suffer interrogation, arrest, and even death for their faith in Christ, with another 200 to 400 million facing discrimination and alienation. One of the greatest tools for accomplishing this mission is getting Bibles into the hands of believers in the places of the world where following Christ is most difficult.
CMAʼs partnership with Open Doors has made a huge difference in the lives of countless Christians. Since Run for the Son began in the mid-eighties, more than $8,400,427 has been put to use by Open Doors to purchase over 2,064,232 Bibles. In China, where Bible distribution is the backbone of their work, it is not uncommon for as many as fifty people to share a single Bible. The impact of Run for the Son is phenomenal!
